Tips on how the baths work:
Pay the entry fee (keep your receipt!), use your ticket or chip to enter, change cloths, jump in!
When leaving drop your chip, collect your receipt, if you leave with in 3 hours of your arrival, go to the collection desk give BOTH receipts to get a small refund.
Basic Massage at all baths start at 2000 Ft for 15 min.
Please note you must enter bath 1 hour before closing time, all baths require a bathing suit except on male or female days (Rudas)

Some tips about money
Change money only @ exchange booths, even if you are offered a better rate by a sketchy individual, such as the ones hanging out in front of the booths at the train stations & on Vaci St.. Changing money on the street is against the law plus you’ll get cheated & lose whatever amount you wanted to exchange.
The best exchange rates are in exchange booths not banks if you know how to find the correct ones. Beware because companies like Inter Exchange will provide you with tolerable rates but the trick is you’ll need to change 250,000 Ft (1000 Euros / U.S. Dollars) in order to get that good rate. A tip is to ask how much you’ll get for X amount of currency, never lay your money down till you are satisfied with the rate. Again be familiar with your rate exchange. Some reliable places to exchange are M&M Exclusive, Northerline, Unio. One other item is commissions, you should never have to pay a commission, again ask first if there is one or not before laying your money down.
Traveller Cheques should be exchanged with the same company they are from in order to get the best rates & possibly no commission taken out. Every where in Hungary they take commission so ask first.
Visa & MasterCard are excepted in most banks as well as ATM machines. I personally recommend using these or your bank / check card as they provide the daily rates. But before leaving home check with your bank to see what the charges are as credit cards charge a transaction fee between $5-15 and a 5-10% exchnage rate service as well. Normal banking check cards tend to charge only for the use of the ATM charge. I find my Credit Union best as I am only charged $1 with each transaction!
Usually banks is where you need to go and banks are only open from 9 AM to 4 PM Also if they offer you a map don’t take it as they charge you for it and deduct it from you exchanged amount.
In Hungary you’ll feel a bit rich because of the extra zeros but don’t let that confuse you with the reality of the value.

– At the airport there is Tourist Taxi. The have a desk and a chart telling you how much you have to pay for your desitination. The cost is usually a bit more than if you call one 1000-2000 HUF more but you don’t have to wait. The Other recommended option is to call a taxi service & they will come with in 5-10 min. & meet you at the outside curb from arrivals, remember the company you call as you will look for the logo on the taxi. Avergae cost to downtown is between 4000-5000 HUF.

Options to get to and from the airport
(Ferihegy Repülőtér 2 or 1)
Public Transportation – From the Airport take Airport Bus (Reptér Busz) # 93 to the end station (Kőbánya-Kispest) & then take the Metro (Blue line) to Center. Cost is 125 HUF per ticket, bags should have a ticket too if they are quite large. For the trip to the center you'll need at least 2 tickets.
Minibus Service – Door to door like a taxi but you ride with others and it takes a bit longer but is a good deal if you are alone. The cost is 2300 HUF each way if bought separate or 3900 HUF if you buy a round trip ticket – vaild for 3 months. As you exit the customs area you will find a counter & there will be a sign for "Airport Minibus Service", go to that counter. Please note that sometimes you wait up to one hour before leaving the airport. if you want to use this service on the way back to the airport you'll need to book it 48 hours in advance call 296-8555.
Renting a car or Rent-a-car options to consider Driving in Hungary is very easy and the streets and roads are in farily good condition, especially the new higways. Which are tollways and you have to buy a toll sticker at any gas / petrol station. Renting a car is best for driving to more remote areas and if you need to save time.
